My breakbarrel sometimes shoots in the black arena, but sometimes it foesnt even hit the target. The scope is also cheap and the group is a big one. It could also be the scope , and everytime I zero it it hits the black area, then after 2 shots it doesnt even hit the target

10:15 The ballistic coefficient of a projectile has everything to do with retaining energy, literally everything. You also say that the BC changes as soon as the projectile leaves the barrel. That's utter noncense . . . every slug and pellet has it's own set ballistic coefficient, no matter at what speed you shoot them, the ballistic coefficient of that projectile never changes, it doesn't decrease nor will it increase. It is a SET number, otherwise they couldn't print the BC on the box. The only projectile that I know of that could changed it's BC during flight was the French Concorde when it lifted the cockpit.

In all your tuning of the Avenger how did you manage to get that plastic receiver cover off?

James I just got my adapter and the OEM holes are only 5/32”. Do I need to make them bigger like yours or drill the four holes the same size that came with mine? Also I’m new to pcp air guns and learning a lot from you. Keep up the good work.

Hi AAA found your vid about 6 month ago cause my springers just shot like crap. kinda thought you might be a little nutty but i tried it and wholly crap my groups tightened up and it became so much more fun shooting my rifles. Good advice except for firing the gun with no pellet in the barrel. You break pistons that way, I have seen it personally, plus the instruction say not to. I have that same Ruger .22, love that thing.

This is literally the exact comparison i was looking for, would these slugs work with a pellet pistol? They may not fit the mag, but im more concerned about the barrel lol.

if pellet and slug are same weight and shot at same velocity the slug will have a higher impact its physics a slug is more aerodynamic and will slide through the atmosphere easier than a diablo shaped pellet therefore the slug will retain more energy at the longer distances than the pellet if you are hunting 60yds or less use a quality pellet at 900 to 950 fps if you are hunting further out use a slug at the same 950 its simple physics at long range slugs will out perform a pellet because pellets are designed to loose velocity quickly for a safety factor

so i keep listening to your videos. i do not know why. you piss me off when you say the things you say. and yeah i understand you are an engineer that works with the things airguns are made of. i am a structural engineer. so the eff what. thpeople that build these avengers and avenge-x are doing it for money.if you really do not like it then build a better one that cost the same and really prove that air venturi is ripping people off. do it for the same price and make it better. smiles doubt you have the ability friend. but you are so smart, . well it is like this, i have been completely blind for the last dozen years, and i tune my avenger by sound and feel alone. and i can tell you , on the avenger the hammerspring has a spot on every turn where it works a bit better than the whole rest of the turn. and on my avenger it is 1/8th of a turn so at 1and 1/8th it is quieter which means it is working less so thus working better, at 2 and an 8th it does the same and so on and so on. but it depends on what you are trying to acomplish as to which turn you go to and where on that turn you leave the hammerspring. personally i like a regulator setting of about 2680-2685 psi it is optimum for me using a compresser. but not so easy to use a hand pump. and this means i have to put the hammerspring at turn 5 but not 5 . 5 and 1/8th gives me quieter response than 5 and 3/4ths which is what steve says to do , but i get the same energy 58fpe with 5 and 1/8th turn as with 5 and 34ths turn but the avenger is quieter because my avenger has some imperfection at that 8th of every turn where it just works better there. so instead of just using the manual try knowing your avenger because i am sure they are all different. find that place on each turn where the hammerspring works better because that is probably where the coil of the spring begins so that would be where the tension should begin from is that not correct mr engineer? these things all matter and i am blind and know this. of course i try to be humble also, even though my I Q averages 163. with a block theory of 219 and a mathmatics of 179 with the rest being lower the average is 163. so i am not shabby myself. i build bridges blind stabilizing structural loads at speed with multiple vehicles use . so yeah i get it, an engineer is some one to listen to. but take tim e to notice the small stuff too. now i have not bought an avenge x at all because i was listening to the avengex videos and something seemed off to me. i like .25cal and not .22 cal in the avenger platform. in .22 i choose the AEA challenger longstock platform . it gives 63fpe with a 40gr hollowpoint slug (it dont like pellets) and you do not need to adjust the power wheel at all. just shoot it and at a 3600psi fill it gives 24-30 shots at that energy. if you want to get different results it does not come with a reg but you can get a reg kit for it, but it is an internal reg and it is not needed, just change the lead weight and or the fill pressure cause it can take 4500psi but it likes 3600psi so changing the pressure will net different results. thus different accuracy. and using a heavier weight slug will give you better accuracy. the 40 gr hnn hollowpoints i use bring the velocity to between 912 and 921 usually. which is alot for such a heavy slug out of a .22cal(.217 dia... well i wont gripe anymore, just please find some humility in yourself because god does not like a pompus azz of a man he tends to make people like that fall on their faces. so at least try to be humble please. and thank you. cannot wait to listen to your future videos without the pride. smiles, and yeah we know you are intelligent, SO, smiles giggles and wink. take care and be blessed. the last word @airgunz_militia you tube

I'm not a pro by any means but I've been messing with pcp rifles for 10 yrs. I can't break them down but I do have some ideal of how to tune them to my likening. I always order any changeable air rifles in 25 cal because it's gonna have more power out the box normally. That way when I switch it over to a smaller caliber it has the pre-set power for 25 cal. I have a FX Impact, FX Crown and the Avenge X and I ordered them in 25 cal and when I change them to a smaller caliber they still shoot great. Just have to reduce the reg or hammer spring depending on what I want my shot count to be and the power/fps I desire when I drop down in calibers. My fps on my avenge X is as listed, 177 cal (970-985), 22 cal 955-970, 25 Cal 915-925. And that depends on the pellet weight as to the fps difference. I guess it also depends on what part of the country you live in. Case and point, I brought a 25 cal Sidewinder. A of AZ claimed the maxium fps they could get with a 33.95 grain pellet/slug was 1035 fps. Mine came out the box shooting 34 grain slugs/pellets @ sub-sonic speed/fps. I re-set my reg to 130 and turned the power wheel down 15 clicks and the started tuning the gun to the fps I desired. Once I got back to the 15 clicks, I started turning the PW up to see if it would produce more power and it did. So that told me the gun wasn't tuned to the max out the box. I now have it set to where I can run 27-28 grain pellets @ 965-970 fps or 34 grain slugs @970-975 fps just by turning the PW up a couple of clicks or down a click or two. And at those fps the gun is accurate. Also with a 130 reg pressure, I can still make the gun go sub-sonic just by turning the PW up, and YES, I use a chrony. My point being the math doesn't always add up !!!

You’ve seen this already commented but I’ll say it again. You have to compare same grain weight 15.89 with no power change will obviously hit higher than a 21 grain, you should know this. In addition, the barrel of the rifle makes contact with 70% or more of the slugs whereas it only makes contact with 20% of the pellet which means more drag from the slug. Measure same grain dude slug will be a bit slower cuz of drag but this is terrible what you did. Usually like you content but this one is ridiculous

Would like to see how it does at 100 yard and what type of FPE it has with the slugs. To my understanding the speed makes a big difference. Between 900 and 1020 fps should be the magic number depending on the rifle. Anyway that will be cool to watch and see how it will perform 🤙

He's right. That's why most modular pcps are 177 and 22, because they can use the same hammer spring. If they go beyond 22, then the hammer spring is stronger.

the barrel is not pointing up, but the scope is pointing down. But because you look in a straight line through the scope it may look like the barrel is pointing up. The bigger the distance you are shooting the more your scope has to point down to compensate the bullet drop for the given distance.

I hadn't shot airguns for years (well not springers) and have been shooting powder burners for the last few years. Just started shooting an HW95k and was trying various holds and techniques to try and realise better accuracy as I was struggling to get even an inch group at 30yds. The main issue I was having was shots going left and right. The airgun is so unforgiving relative to the rapid locktime of a centrefire rifle which can forgive poor technique to a degree. Anyway, the elbows more out and the forend held (lightly) further forward make a huge difference. I am shooting this thing more accurately sat down now using my knees as support for my now sticky out elbows and am seeing virtually no left to right error. The rifle feels less lively in my hands and is coming straight backwards. This is a very good video which makes you think about your shortcomings. Thank you.

I just buy cheap ZR mount and it's doesn't work on my nitro airgun..but i wanna try Diana Bullseye ZR mount 🤔💯
